Newglads – Make Believe
Hi, it’s me again. The cat. Well, the Food Guy is in another one of his moods. He fed me, then he got back in bed and spent most of the morning Googling names like Ted Piercefield and Danny Kirwan. Then he listened to Gerry Mulligan’s “Song for Strayhorn.” Then he listened to Big Star’s “Try Again.” He played that one twice. Then he listened to “Make Believe,” the new single from Newglads. He played that a few times. Then he started alternating “Make Believe” with the Big Star song, playing a few seconds of one then switching to the other. So I figured if any real reviewing was going to get done, I would have to do it myself.
I like this Newglads song. It is good Cat Music. Cats like acoustic guitars and harmonies. But we don’t like banjos. It does remind me of “Try Again,” the Big Star song, but that’s OK. The Food Guy says “At some point, every band sounds like Big Star.” The Food Guy likes to say things like that. His head is filled with what he thinks is knowledge.
“Make Believe” used to be on Bandcamp or Soundcloud. I don’t remember which one. But it went away. Then it was on YouTube. Then that went away too. Then NewGlads went away. So now you can’t hear the song. Oh well.
Here is something interesting. “Try Again” was co-written by Chris Bell. And “Make Believe” was co-written by Cristiano Belluzzo. I asked the Food Guy if they are the same person and he said “No, Chris Bell died a long time ago but maybe he was reincarnated in Italy.” I had to think about that so I spent the next hour staring out the back window. I think I would like to be reincarnated as a lion. I would sit up on a big rock and survey my domain. But I don’t want to be an African lion. I want to be a Disney World lion in the Animal Kingdom. That would be a fun place for a lion to live.
One thing I like about Newglads: they are very positive. They don’t do that “Oh life sucks” thing and they don’t do that “Look how cool I am” thing. And I think their music is good for People. The Food Guy listened to “Make Believe” several times, then he got up and took a shower and now he is listening to Grand Funk’s “Loco-Motion.” So I am writing this from under the bed.
Be sure to join Newglads on their website, on Facebook, and on Twitter. I think they are probably nice people.

Milkshake, great blog! You remind me of someone I know, just can’t quite put my finger on it. 🙂
